Charles de Temple Gold Band Ring, circa 1970
Modernist ring by designer Charles de Temple. The 18k yellow gold band made up of textured and polished square elements stacked to create an arrangement of three diamond-shaped components to form a band ring.
De Temple is known as the creator of the Goldfinger ring used in the James bond film of the same name. The son of actor, Tom Mix , Charles worked in the circus, as an actor , a sculpture and finally after settling in London , a jewelry designer. His self taught talent exhibits a freedom of design and skill that sets his work apart from the more commercial jewelers during the time. Like Andrew Grima, his unique style acquired an audience of international trendsetters looking for something exclusive.
